Hubble Ultra Deep Field

Powered by Zoomify

Except for a couple of foreground stars, all the splotches you see here are entire galaxies! The Hubble Ultra Deep Field image was built by combining 800 exposures totalling one-million seconds of observation time between Sept. 24, 2003 and Jan 16, 2004. The area of sky shown here covers less than one twelve-millionth of the entire sky. See the Hubblesite for more information.
